WPA Poetry Contests

The Washington Poets Association has a long tradition of running poetry contests, beginning in 1972. The following contests are currently sponsored by the WPA:

William Stafford Contest (any form)

Francine Porad Contest (haiku)

Carlin Aden Contest (traditional rhyme and meter)

Charlie Proctor Contest (humorous poetry in any form)

How to Submit

The submission period for all 2009 contests is January 31, 2009 - June 30, 2009. Online submissions only. Postal submissions will no longer be accepted. See 2009 Poetry Contest Submission Guidelines for details.
